Thankful Tuesday

I know that it's been a while since I've done Thankful Tuesday and it has really been bothering me. We've been so busy lately that I've barely had time to check my email once a week so I apologize for not keeping up with my blog. Anyways, hopefully I'll get back into the routine of posting my 10 things that I'm thankful for each week.

My Ten Things for This Week Are:

1. I have finished selling all my clothes, toys, etc. in the various consignment sales around this area. I forget each year how much time it takes to hang and tag all the items. But it's definitely worth the money!

2. Kaylee's preschool that she attends. We had a potluck there Friday night and I'm so thankful for the teachers and all of the parents. I feel like I'm already good friends with a lot of them and I appreciate Kaylee having their kids as good friends.

3. Daphne's fundraiser has ended and she did really good! She sold 12 entertainment cards and from what I understand, that's a lot.

4. The marriage enrichment class that Micah and I are currently taking. It's been taught at our church and I'm thankful that the church is covering the costs and that Micah has put so much effort into the class. We have homework each night and meet once a week for 2 hours, but so far, it has been well worth the time.

5. Micah's current schedule which allows us to take the class and allows us to do other things that we haven't gotten to do in the past.

6. Mother's Day Out - specifically my 1 year old class. I'm really enjoying teaching this class! All the kids do a great job playing together and they participate when I teach at the table.

7. Micah's brother and his family moving closer to us. They're moving just a few miles away from us on Saturday. We're hopefully going to get to spend a lot more time together and the kids will see their cousins more often. At least for now, I'm thankful for that. (Yes, that is intended as a joke!)

8. Micah's new truck. It was given to us by my parents when they bought a new one. We've already used it a few times to haul things here and there and I know that Micah is really enjoying driving it. I don't think he feels too manly in my Freestyle!

9. I can park in the garage!! Micah has gotten at least part of the garage cleared out so that I can pull my car in. For those of you who don't know, the garage belongs to the Jeep and the many Jeep parts, etc. that Micah has been collecting over the past years.

10. My house is clean and all the laundry is done! Some of you may think that's an odd thing to be thankful for, but I always feel so much better when things are done. It's puts me in a better mood (which Micah and the kids are thankful for!) and causes less stress.

Thanks to everyone for reading! I hope you all have a wonderful week!

Ballerina Kaylee

Kaylee started dance classes today! She's taking tap and ballet and she already loves it! Her class has 6 girls in it. I can't wait to see them learning some dances! Here are some pictures:

I wish I could have gotten a picture of her with her tutu on, but she didn't put it one until we got to class

I couldn't pass up this backpack! It came from Chocolate Soup.

Here's at least one picture that I have of the kids from last weekend.

Memphis, Rain, and Work

Sorry that's it has been so long since I've posted. It seems that we have been constantly on the go. And I've been going to bed around 9:00 the past few nights to try to catch up on some sleep.

This past weekend, the kids and I went to Memphis to visit my Aunt Marcy. We had a lot of fun! We went to the Children's Museum of Memphis and of course to Chocolate Soup for some shopping. On Sunday, we celebrated the end of summer by taking a final trip to the swimming pool. And, as usual, I didn't have my camera with me. Hopefully my aunt got some good pictures that I can post later.

On Tuesday, I started at Mother's Day Out and Noah started in his class, too. I'm teaching 1 year olds this year. I was a little nervous, but the day went really well. I have five kids: four boys and one girl. They are all older so there wasn't much crying for momma. The also sat through a thirty minute lesson and then most of them did really good taking a nap. The only problem is that I'm coming home absolutely worn out and my back is hurting from picking up the kids 100 times during class.

Also, on Tuesday, Micah started a new job. He has moved off the streets for a while and is working in the detective's office. He will eventually go to narcotics, but we're not quite sure when that will be. So far, I think he's been a little bored with his new position, but I'm loving it. He's working 8a-4p with Saturday and Sundays off. I'm so, so, SO excited that he's going to be home a night!!

What's also been going on is a whole lot of rain! Gustav has been sitting on top of Arkansas for the past four days. The good news is that the kids are getting to where their raincoats and rain boots everyday. At least I know that they weren't a total waste of money!

Kaylee starts dance class on Monday and Daphne started soccer this week. They're both still loving school. Daphne cried when I told her that she didn't have it on Monday. I'm sure that will eventually change.

Well, that should catch everyone up on what's been going on with us. I hope everyone has a great week!
