Hey everybody! Sorry it's been a while since I posted anything. We've had a lot going one lately.

First of all, Noah turned 2 years old on March 21! We haven't had a party for him yet so I'll post more about him later.

Next, we had Micah's brother's wedding the day before Easter. Mark and Brittany got married at Downtown Church of Christ in Searcy. Kaylee was a flower girl, Noah was a ring bearer, and Daphne helped pass out bubbles during the reception. The bad thing is that I don't have any pictures yet so I'll have to add them later.

Then came Easter. And once again, no pictures. I'll try to post them later, too. My parents came up and went to church with us and the kids hunted Easter eggs. I think that the kids had 5 egg hunts total this year so we have enough candy to last us until Halloween! I also have plenty of empty eggs to last the rest of their chilhood.

Our Spring Break was last week. We rested a lot and spent a few days at my parents lakehouse in Hot Springs. It was very relaxing which is what we all needed. I don't think we set our alarm clocks once last week except for Sunday. Micah ahd I went fishing with my dad. Micah caught more fish than me, but mine were bigger and a better quality! We weren't able to take the kids fishing this time because Lake Hamilton was too windy for them to fish from the boat and Lake Ouachita was flooded so they couldn't fish from the bank. However, we did get to go to Mid-America Science Musuem. It is a kid's musuem that I used to go to when I was little. It has a lot of hands on activities. All of the kids had a lot of fun.

I'll try to post pictures soon and tell you all about Noah's birthday party. We're planning on having it this Saturday night. I'm having a hard time deciding what the theme is going to be. He really likes Thomas the Train, but lately he's been into planes. He also likes dinosaurs and Curious George. I may just have to combined all of them!

Well, that's about it. School started again today so I had to drag myself out of bed to take Daphne. Of course, she was ready to go back. She loves her school and always misses her friends and her teaches when she doesn't get to go.

I just want to congratulate my dad! He is a Circuit/Chancery Judge in Saline County. He found out Monday that he will not have an opponent for this year's election. This of course means that he will not have to do any campaigning and he'll have this position for at least another 6 years. This is a huge stress relief for both my parents and it hopefully means that my mom will retire at the end of this school year. I hope everyone has a great week!

North Little Rock was visited by snow again yesterday. This time it snowed for a long time. It wasn't the 5-10 inches that all the stations predicted, but it was enough to have lots of fun! The kids really enjoyed playing in it for about an hour and then they were ready to go inside for some hot chocolate.

Almost of all of the snow has melted by this afternoon. In fact, I'm looking out my window and the snowman has been beheaded. Oh well, I guess we'll have to wait until next winter for some more!

Snowday !?!?

Our Backyard


It is the fourth day of March and the North Little Rock area got its first snowday of the season. We have gotten flurries maybe twice, but this is the first time it has stuck. I have written about how crazy the weather is in Arkansas and this week proves my point again. On Saturday and Sunday, the high was in the 70's. Yesterday it was 68 and today we got snow! All of the kids (and me and Micah) were really excited about it. However, schools weren't canceled so we didn't get to enjoy it as much as we would have liked to. Most of it was melted by the afternoon, but there was still enough for a snowball or two. Both of the girls got snow put down their shirts. It's so nice to have kids that I can torture just like my parents (mainly my dad) used to do to me!

Fish and Soccer

We really haven't been up to much this past week. Just the usually stuff. Micah has started a new shift where he works 8pm to 6am. That's ten hours, but the good news is that he'll have three days off! Now that's if he doesn't have court that day, or a class to go to, or an off-duty job to work. But I'm still really excited at the idea of him possibly having all three days off! I'm hoping that we'll be able to use those days to spend more time at my parents' lake house this summer.

On a sad note, Daphne's fish Petey died yesterday morning. We had only had him for about 2 week. I had explained to both her and Kaylee that fish just don't live long even if you take really good care of them. Daphne took it pretty hard, but mainly just because she's afraid that Kaylee's fish, Hannah Montana the Superstar, will be lonely in the tank by herself. I told Daphne that we'd get a new one next time we go to Walmart.

We had promotions at church this morning. Kaylee was so excited to get to go to the 4 year old class, but Noah was not as happy to go to the 2 year old class. Luckily, I was going to stay in there anyways to help train a new teacher so at least that was a temporary fix. We'll see how he does in a few weeks when mommy just drops him off and goes to her own class!

Daphne started soccer again this past Saturday. Her team is the Rockets and THEY ROCK! I have been really pleased with soccer. It was a sport that wasn't very popular where I grew up, but I'm really glad that we're getting our kids involved with it. The schedule has been great. We played six weeks in the fall, got a break for the holidays, and we'll play about six weeks in the spring. It's so much fun to watch the kids run up and down the field all going after the ball while all the parents are yelling,"Kick it! Kick it hard!" We have an awesome coach that knows that the kids just want to have fun right now. He doesn't push them to hard. Before I signed Daphne up to play, I was a little leary because everything seems to be so competitive now, even at 4 years old. Which, those who know me well, know that I'm a very, very competitive person, but I don't think kids should be until they're at least a little bit older.
