Micah's brother Marshall came home from Iraq today! His group got in to Camp Robinson about 3:00 this afternoon. Everyone, especially his wife and mother, were excited to finally see him. We're all so glad that he's home! Daphne cried when she saw him, but I wasn't surprised because she had told me earlier that she was probably going to cry. Marshall's homecoming is an answer to a prayer that we've been praying for months. He is a really great brother, brother-in-law, and especially uncle to us. We love him and really appreciate him.

Tag! I'm it!

Okay, so I read on my friend Darrah's blog that she tagged me. And although she never left me a comment to let me know, I will still cooperate.

I'm supposed to list 7 things that are weird about me.

1. I used to only drink Dr. Pepper until I was pregnant with Kaylee and I switched to Coke. Now, I can't stand Dr. Pepper.

2. This relates to the number one. Anything that made me sick during one of my pregnancies (watermelon, winterfresh gum, grape juice, etc.) will make me sick now. Sometimes just the smell of it will make me feel queasy.

3. My middle name is Alaire. I consider that weird because most people have never heard of that name. I was named after my grandmother.

4. When I was younger, I wasn't even sure if I wanted any kids (I really never thought about it). Now, I have 3 kids.

5. I love to drive. Anyone who was ridden with me can attest to this. One of my favorite things to do is drive on a winding road out in the country. I used to do this a lot in high school. It's not as relaxing now with 3 kids in the car!

6. Sometimes I wish that I was still in high school. Fewer worries, closer friends, and my entire life ahead of me to dream.

7. If it were up to me, we would still have hangings on courthouse lawns. I believe that our justice system babies people too much. When I become a senator or perhaps the governor, I will lobby for tougher and quicker punishment for criminals.

Mariposa

We have a new family member! She's white and gray and really furry. And she say's "Mew" all day long and all day night. I'm sure you already figured out that it's a kitten! We got her on Thursday afternoon from a friend of ours. Micah claims that he's allergic to cats, so for right now, this is on a trial basis. We're all going to help take care of her, but it really belongs to Kaylee. I sometimes feel that Daphne gets everything and gets to do everything because she's the oldest. Also, the girls' share almost everything, so I wanted something that Kaylee could say was hers and that would be her responsibility. Kaylee got to pick her name which is Mariposa. The name means butterfly and it's from a Barbie movie. So far, so good. All the kids are being really careful with her, even Noah.

Happy Birthday Noah!

Well, we finally celebrated Noah's 2nd birthday! With the wedding, Easter, and spring break, we've had to keep postponing his party.

On Saturday night, we got together with some of the family at Burns Park. We played for a while on the rocket slide and then we walked across the street to Funland. Funland is this old amusement park that is kinda cheesy, but kinda cool at the same time. All of the kids had a blast on the rides. Noah rode on every ride he could and at the end of each one he'd say, "Again. I wanna ride again." I rode on the train and the Scrambler, but Micah had to go with the kids on the Tilt-A-Whirl. I just don't have the stomach for those like I used to.

After riding rides, we went to a pavillion to eat hot dogs and do the pinata. That was the toughest pinata I've ever seen. We finally had to lay it on the ground and let the kids beat it to death. We had planned on opening presents and eating cake at the park, but it was getting dark and very cold so we loaded up and headed back to our house to finish the party.

Here are a few random facts about Noah: Noah talks very well for his age. Many times he'll speak in almost a full sentence. His language ability amazes me daily; Noah loves to play with my hair, but if I'm not nearby he'll settle for someone else's hair (like Kaylee or Daphne's) or just play with his own. He usually does this when he's tired; Noah has been in a big boy bed for at least four months and hasn't fallen out once!; He is definitley a boy, although he claims he's a girl. It's my fault though because I always say, "Come on girls. Let's go." although I'm talking to all the kids; Noah loves to play ball. He likes to play with cars, trains, trucks, etc. He turns random objects into guns although he's never had a toy gun. He's my only child that could jump and come of the ground at this age. He loves to climb. Noah would almost be fearless except for garbage trucks and other big trucks that make a lot of noise. He likes to look at them as they come down our road, but once they get to our house, he runs to me crying. Noah is also very loving. He'll say "I want to hold you" to me when he wants to be picked up. He has also done things like held the door for me, wiped away my tears, and many other things that have made my heart melt. We're so blessed to have Noah. Our family would not be complete without him.

P.S. - I don't know if any of you heard about the tornadoes that came through our area last Thursday night. One hit fairly close to us, but luckily our neighborhood was spared. One also hit in Benton where my parents live, but they're also okay.
