I sure hope that some of you who are reading this got some beautiful soft snow to play in this weekend because all we got was hard ice. The good news is that the schools were closed Friday and Micah got to come home from work early. Micah's mom said that they got over 4 inches of snow in Bradford. I sure wish I had taken the kids up there Thursday night so they could be playing in it right now. However, we still had a lot of fun playing outside. In fact, the kids are outside right now playing with Micah while Aubrey and I work on the blog that has been neglected.
Since we live in Arkansas, we do not have a nice sled because we very rarely ever need one. Therefore, we had to improvise redneck style. We tried the trashcan lid, some other storage lids and then finally found a big piece of cardboard that proved to work the best. Although our hill isn't very big and sled didn't work all that great, we still had a blast. It got even better when our neighbors brought over an old boogie board of theirs. It went a lot faster and a lot farther than the cardboard.

Kaylee's 6th Birthday

Kaylee turned 6 on January 13! We celebrated by getting together at our church with all of the family (our family has gotten too big for all of us to fit in our house!) Kaylee had a Barbie party complete with a Barbie cake and a put the sunglasses on Barbie game. She got a lot of great gifts including a Zhu Zhu hamster and car, a scarf, some Junie B. Jones books, a blue leopard print hair dryer, some new clothes, a princess nightlight, a Barbie bike, plus lots of other things.
Here are some things about Kaylee: she is very caring and concerned about everybody and everything; she has a sweet voice that can sometimes get a little high pitched; her favorited colors right now are pink and purple; she is an awesome reader and a really good student overall; for now she wants to be an ice skater when she grows up; she loves to dance and twirl around the house; she is really good at dance (much better than I ever was!); she would rather be drawing or reading a book than playing sports; she can be a bit dramatic at times and we've really had to work on her controlling herself, but she's doing better; she is a wonderful big sister as well as a wonderful little sister; she just lost her first tooth! (see picture below) although her bottom two adult teeth have already come in (I blame that on Micah's side of the family!); She's our favorite daughter with auburn hair, brown eyes, and freckles!! HAPPY BIRTHDAY KAYLEE!! WE LOVE YOU!

I hope everyone had a great Christmas and is having a wonderful New Year so far! We haven't been doing much the last two weeks except for lying around and taking some time off. We've been staying up late almost every night either watching a movie, playing Wii, or playing some other game. And then we all have been sleeping until at least 9 the next morning. It has been sooooo relaxing. I have hardly done any housework so I'll have a whole lot of catching up to do next week. Micah has been off for the the past week which has been a great Christmas present to all of us. We also got to spend a few days at his parents' house with the rest of his family.
We've had some other things going on besides Christmas. Micah and I celebrated our 10th anniversary on December 18th!! We got to go out to eat and go bowling while his parents watched the kids for us. We usually don't exchange gifts, but we decided to this year. I got him a blu-ray player and he got me a beautiful diamond necklace.
As many of you know, we had a scare with Aubrey last month. Some of you asked me quesitons through texting and I tried to reply, but I'm not sure all of them went through. My new phone has not been very good with text messages. Anyways, when I took Aubrey in for her 4 month old well child check-up, her head had grown from the 25% to the 75% while her body had only gone from the 5% to the 10%. Also, her soft spot on her head was not sunken in like it should be. So we got an appointment for the next day to have a head ultrasound at Children's Hospital. I am so thankful that we were able to get in that fast because I would have made myself sick if it had been any longer than that. They were thinking the she probably had hydrocephalis (or "water on the brain") which would mean that she would have to have surgery to have a stint put in. Thankfully, the doctors said that everything looked normal. We go back in about a week to get her measured again. I'm still not completely at ease, but I'm not worrying as much. Thank you to everyone for the prayers!! I know that there were many being said that day!
I will try to post some pictures of Christmas, etc. later. Thanks for checking in on us!
