Happy Birthday Noah!

Noah turned 4 a couple of Sundays ago on March 21. We were at the lakehouse in Hot Springs on his birthday and didn't have his party until this past Friday so that's why it's taken me a while to post about it.

This year Noah wanted to have his party at Jump Zone. He had about 20 kids from church and school come. It had a pirate theme and one of his big presents from us was a pirate raincoat. (he already has some pirate boots that his Aunt Marcy gave him last month as an early birthday present)

We also got him a new "boy" booster seat for the car and the girla got him some Toy Story toys. We had a lot of fun at his party and he got a lot of really cool toys from his friends.

Here are some things about Noah... he is all boy, but can definitley be a bit of a drama "king" at times...he's very animated and likes to tell stories that are half true and half made-up (a lot times we have to figure out what part he's making up!)...he has a very wide vocabulary and amazes me with his language skills...he is an accomplished spider-killer...he makes me laugh on a daily basis...he's a big helper. He can fold and hang-up most of his own clothes. He also wipes down the table and will help sweep....he's not very good at cleaning up his room though...Noah is into Star Wars, guns, swords, Legos, Spiderman, Toy Story, cars, trucks, sports...His favorite color right now is black...he's my "trashman". After I change on of Aubrey's diapers, I yell "I need a trashman" and he'll come throw the diaper away...he's a natural entertainer and class clown...Noah loves all of his friends very much...he would like a baby brother, but I told him that wasn't going to happen and he cried...Noah is a wonderful little boy and we are very lucky that he's in our lives!

Bragging Rights

Well, I'm sure I'm a little bit bias, but I feel that as a mother I am allowed some bragging rights. Daphne had one of the main parts and the longest solo part in her school play about Fairy Tales last week. Her part was called the "Fairy Tale Rap" and it was about 18 lines long. She did a great job and her teacher even called us later that night to congratulate her on her performance. Unfortunately, since I didn't realize that we should get there an hour before the play was suppose to start, our seats were way in the back. Kaylee and Noah stood on a table so that they could see, but I could only see the very top of Daphne's head. Micah tried to get her on video, but he didn't have much luck either. I'm hoping to get a good copy from one of the parents on the front row and I will try to post it when I do.

Now, onto some more bragging....

Daphne's vice principal just called me from school and said that he had Daphne in the office with her. I immediately thought, "What has she done to get sent to the principal's office. I know that she can be quite a talker sometimes, but I don't think that it would escalate into something more." Well, he put me on speaker phone and started telling me what a wonderful and gifted student Daphne is. She had written a 20 page essay about fairy tales. He explained that it was the best piece of writing he had ever seen from a 1st grader. He said that it was very maturely written and that it "captivated his attention" for the entire 20 pages. Now, I can't wait for her to bring it home so that we can read it! Okay, that's enough bragging for now. I probably do some more on Sunday for Noah's birthday.
